Loosing Control

In most, if not all of my past relationships, I have almost always been in charge and I got used to it.

Its taking a lot from me not to be in control anymore. "Wives, obey and respect your husbands" says the Word.

"Okay, okay", I tell myself, until something happens or hubby-to-be (HTB) does something that I can not control and then my mouth starts to itch. I want to say how I feel very badly. Often times, I say great good things, just at the wrong time. My last post mentioned that part of proverbs that says "a fools lips cause arguments/fights and his mouth brings a beating", well, often times my mouth has brought about looks that could almost kill.

HTB told me once that if one were to be judged by looks, I would pass as a super sweet person, which of course I am until I get pissed or burned in some sort of way. I can get really bad with words, not necessarily insults, just plain facts that can hurt.

Well, I have concluded that there is absolutely one thing that I can be in control of! My tongue and actions. I hate to say sorry too many times because it begins to loose its worth.

I hope that with time I'll get used to the fact that I can not always be in control. Its time to let go and let God always & HTB sometimes. :) Besides, if I am in control all the time, where does God come in.

Pray for me y'all!

I will be starting an A-Z of the proverbs woman soon....watch this space.

M is for Meat not Milk!

...Like Newborn Babes, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation. I Pet 2:2

...For everyone that uses milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness; for he is a babe. But solid food is for fullgrown men, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.      Heb 5:13-14

Nature takes precedence in the growth cycle of a baby and determines what sort of food that baby can chew and/or digest. But for the purpose of my current situation, nature is going to be defied and growth will be rapid.

Like I mentioned in my very first post, a very important phase of my life is about to begin and I have to be ready for it.

Prov 3:15 "She provides meat for her family and maidservants".

How can you give what you do not have? The time to graduate from milk to meat is now. If I am to feed my household the meat of Gods word, I have to learn to chew and then teach the babes around me. Understanding of Gods word is important to administer it to hubby and children.

That proverbs woman should be filled with the word of God. To read the bible is one thing, to understand is another. Understanding is what makes the difference. Understanding gives you the knowledge to apply the word. It gives you the wisdom to teach it to others.

This morning I read in Prov 18:6, A fools lips walks into a fight and his mouth invites a beating. Before I read it, i was at the brink of saying some unfriendly things to hubby to be and then the word reminded me to be quiet. See! Already learning to be wise in the choosing of my words and timing of my "sermons".

It was a good example of why I need to move from milk to meat.

Stay read up folks. The word is a manual for everyday!

According to...

Proverbs 31 Ministries,

There are 7 principles that should guide a woman aspiring to be a proverbs 31 woman.

She...
  • Pursues an ongoing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Loves, honors, and greatly enriches the life of her husband, encouraging and supporting his leadership within his family and his church.
  • Nurtures the next generation, shaping and molding the children who will one day define who we are as a community and as a nation.
  • Creates a warm and loving environment for family and friends.
  • Is a faithful steward of the time and money God has entrusted to her.
  • Speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction as she encourages others and develops godly friendships.
  • Shares the love of Christ by extending her hands to help the poor and opening her arms to the needy.

These and more are what I aspire to be and what any woman should aspire to be to change the world around her, thereby changing the whole world.

For devotions and more on how to become a woman called by God to affect the world, go to their website here. They make it easier for today's woman to stay conected to God.
